NBA这些奖项的评选方式，大概分为下面几种。
1、媒体投票团投票决定
用这类投票方式决定的奖项占据了这些奖项的绝大多数。此前所说的最有价值球员，最佳新秀，最佳教练，最佳防守球员，最佳第六人，进 步最快球员这六个中投奖项都是由媒体投票团投票决定。本来媒体投票团仅仅包含来自美国和加拿大的体育记者和解说员，不过在最近几年 中，随着中国球迷的日益增加以及腾讯和NBA合作的进一步深化，腾讯前方记者沈洋也在2017年获得了常规赛各个奖项的投票权。中国媒体 也在NBA媒体投票团中占据了一个重要的席位。
2、主教练投票团投票决定
在众多的个人奖项中并没有由主教练投票团投票决定的奖项，不过NBA年度最佳新秀阵容是由NBA的各位主教练投票选出，且主教练不允许给 自己队内的球员投票。
3、总经理投票团投票决定
相信不少球迷能够猜到，既然是总经理投票团，那么投票的奖项一定是和总经理相关的奖项。年度最佳总经理奖项自从1973年以来，就是由 各队总经理投票选出。专业的人干专业的事，这个做法没毛病。
4、职业篮球作家协会投票决定
肯尼迪公民奖这个奖项比较特殊，是颁发给对社会做出突出贡献的球员或者主教练，该奖项由职业篮球作家协会投票选出。
5、NBA球员投票决定
NBA球员参与投票的奖项一共有两个，一个是运动员精神奖，另外一个则是最佳队友奖。这两个奖项的设立都比较晚，由于都牵涉到运动员 的主观意见，所以均由NBA来投票决定。
